Dr. Dale Anderson

Dr. Dale Anderson is an avid consumer of popular culture. He enjoys comedy television and movies. He is very passionate in his fandom of all things Hip Hop. Also, he spends much of his free time following sports. He specifically keeps up with college basketball as a fan of Eastern Michigan University and the University of Kentucky. Academically, he has a keen interest on the impact of culture on individual’s communication and Communication Leadership.

David Barrera, Jr.
Director, Project SENDA
David Barrera Jr. is the current Director of Project SENDA, a federally funded Title V Grant. His experience working with diverse populations as an adjunct instructor and Director of TRIO programs has empowered him to recognize the student perspective and its impact on student success. David also serves on the state board for the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) as the Vice President of Membership for a term that expires in 2024.
His research interests include a strong focus on Latino males in the higher education pipeline.

John Beauford
Career Navigator, Adult Education
John Beauford works as a Career Navigator for Adult Basic Education, but has served in various roles with Financial Aid, Admissions, and Student Life in his career at Del Mar College. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children’s school functions and doing community service projects with them.

Andrew Bridges
Advocacy Specialist, Center for Access & Advocacy
Andrew currently works in the Center for Access & Advocacy as an Advocacy Specialist, and has worked for the Office of Student Engagement and Retention for approximately 7 years. He has spent over 30 years in the field of education working with highly at-risk students to promote student success. As an Advocacy Specialist, he works with students who are experiencing financial, social and academic hardships. Andrew is a product of Corpus Christi of which he graduated from Roy Miller High School.
Andrew enjoys spending time with his family during his time off. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys attending local high school athletic events and supporting the youth of the community. He also regularly attends church and is involved in local ministries in helping the marginalized in our community.

Ronald Guerrero
Computer Tech Specialist
Ron has diverse knowledge in critical thinking and troubleshooting skills that helps him over-see and maintain all Technology for the GAMB (GEN) Building and Stone Writing Center. Additionally, he also oversees Virtual Registration for Heritage Campus and other additional responsibilities for I.T.
Outside of Del Mar, Ron practices Martial Arts such as Kendo and Muay Thai, and likes to play yugioh, paintball and video games. Ron likes to compete and have fun!

Robert montez
Director, Early College Programs/Adjunct Instructor
Robert “Bob” Montez is the Director of Early College Programs (Dual Credit), and an Adjunct Instructor in the Communications Department at Del Mar College. He has worked for the past nine years with this program, and a total of 13 years in post-secondary with two other local institutions. Bob is a native Corpus Christian and a graduate of W.B. Ray High School. His current position has allowed him to work with high school students, beginning their college career earlier and assist with transitioning them on to a post-secondary school after high school graduation. Prior to entering into higher education, Bob worked in the private sector as a Chemist in Houston, Texas and an engineer in the semiconductor industry in Austin, Texas. Bob really enjoys his current position as it allows him to assist and inspire students to reach their educational and career goals.

Javier Morin
Professor, Spanish
Javier Morin is Professor of Spanish at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has taught courses in Beginning and Intermediate Spanish for 20 years both at his current institution and previously at other Texas institutions and in Iowa where he did graduate work. He is focused on delivering quality input and on inspiring his students to continue learning. His greatest satisfaction comes from seeing his students become proficient cultural learners.
Working in the educational field gives Professor Morin a unique insight into student learning, and this has motivated him to publish three works—two student textbooks Excursiones: An Invitation to Spanish, and Expediciones: An Invitation to Spanish, and a Laboratory Manual for language learners.
Most recently, Morin is teaching Spanish and coordinating the Mexican American Studies Program at Del Mar College. He advises undergraduate students in their pursuit of higher degrees.

Gregory Sanchez
Instructor of Management Development, Business & Entrepreneurship
Greg Sanchez is a Corpus Christi native, born and raised, and a graduate of Del Mar College. He has been an employee of Del Mar College for over seven years. Currently, Greg is an instructor of Management in the Business Administration and Entrepreneurship (BAEN) department. Positions and duties with Del Mar College have included being a computer lab assistant, adjunct professor, and academic advisor. Greg became interested in business while attending school at Del Mar College and while working for a local small business.
As an instructor, it is important for him to provide quality instruction and to be available to students. Greg believes the relationship between the teacher and student is a reciprocal relationship built on trust, honor, and understanding - "I learn from you as much as you learn from me. " It is his hope to provide a sense of balance and consistency in other's lives, and to instill drive in his students.In his free time, Greg enjoys time with family and friends, meditation, music, movies, exercising, reading, watching baseball, football, basketball, and any kind of combat sport. He is also a collector of anything that piques his interest. "I wish you all the best in the future. Take care of yourself and take care of someone else."

Valton’s passion has been helping students and communities throughout Coastal Bend for 11 years. He started as a TRIO Talent Search Advisor. He was able to become Director of both Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science with Texas A&M University - Kingsville and Coastal Bend College working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. In his roles, Valton has provided educational opportunities and access by nurturing students’ passion for pursuing and obtaining a higher education.
Valton considers his most significant achievement to be hearing from former program participants and learning about their accomplishments in getting their degrees and other opportunities.Hisultimate goal is to continue tohelp low-income and first-generation college studentsin Coastal Bend gain opportunity and access to obtaining their education in the hope that they become future leaders for their families and communities.

Omar Villarreal

Omar currently serves as the Director of the Del Mar College Student Success Center where his team provides tutoring, success coaching, and technology assistance, among other things, for the success of our students. Omar thrives in working with populations that include first generation students and minority populations who wish to succeed!
